The Need For Wake-on-LAN:

• Portable systems can be off the network for days, and never be in a situation where patches and assets can be reconciled.
  
  If the system has a NIC card, ANSA can “wake” the unit patch and collect relevant information and cycle down the system. This can be set by policy. The user returns to the fully compliant system without any effort on his/her part.
