Autonomic Network & System Administration (ANSA) represents a new class of vulnerability management functionality. It is the industry’s first autonomic, cross-platform software delivery system built from the ground up as an N-tier solution.

A major strength of ANSA’s environment is that it is completely 100% cross platform.   ANSA does not utilize any native operating system API’s.

As an N-tier solution utilizing XML, ANSA provides customers with directory and database independence. This frees customers from being tied into one directory service, such as LDAP or Active Directory. Having this freedom in the ANSA solution enables customers to deliver patches, manage asset inventory, and distribute software across networks very easily. Conventional technology, such as Microsoft SMS/SUS, CA UniCenter, and IBM Tivoli are platform and database limited. These systems are designed to work in specific environments and are constrained by the application itself. Virtually all other solutions require an external database component, resulting in additional processing time and overhead to obtain data from an external source. ANSA, on the other hand, does not require an external database component, which eliminates a single point of failure for patch distribution.  We require SQL!
