afehct.org - Association for Electronic Health Care Transactions. A healthcare association dedicated to supporting the use of EDI to improve and reduce the cost of health care. This site contains HIPAA Implementation White Papers and other information related to implementation.

nchica.org - The North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance, Inc. (NCHICA) is a privately funded, nonprofit organization that actively promotes the advancement and integration of information technology into the healthcare industry. NCHICA has formed the HIPAA Implementation Planning Task Force and subordinate Work Groups to coordinate efforts related to the proposed Administrative Simplification Regulations covering Transactions, National Identifiers, Security, and Privacy.

nubc.org - National Uniform Billing Committee. One of the NUBC's major roles is to maintain the integrity of the UB-92 data set. In addition, the NUBC serves as the forum for discussions about claims-related data elements. The web site contains information about recent developments in billing and claims related transactions. The site also includes discussion of the issues surrounding the achievement of the goals of Administrative Simplification as outlined in HIPAA.

NUCC - The National Uniform Claim Committee. The NUCC was formally named in the administrative simplification section of the HIPAA of 1996 as one of the organizations to be consulted by the American National Standards Institute's accredited SDOs and the Secretary of HHS as they develop, adopt, or modify national standards for health care transactions.
