Autonomic Software develops autonomic Desktop Management, Security, and Power Management solutions – we build and sell the next generation of endpoint management and security technologies. Autonomic solutions allow endpoints to manage themselves with little or no human intervention. These solutions are capable of taking continual stock of their self, their connections, devices and resources, and knows which are to be shared or protected.

Founded in Danville, California in 2004, we initially devoted our patented agent technology to address the growing difficulties IT managers faced in a rapidly accelerating number of software patches - and the increasing security risk posed by any delays or applying those fixes.

It was soon evident that our intelligent agent technology could quickly help customers overcome similarly challenging and time-consuming IT system management tasks, such as asset management, configuration management, software deployment, report generation, conformance monitoring and policies management, software audit/conformance, as well as power conservation. Our advanced, flexible technologies are extraordinarily cost effective. Technology and price structure often achieves ROI in the six month time frame.

The company has a wide-range of customers in the financial, government, health-care, heavy construction, schools, and the general business communities. The networks our customers manage and secure range from 100 to 40,000 endpoints. Many customers manage distributed networks that can range from just a few miles apart in distance to networks that reach around the globe.

Autonomic software's ANSA Products (ANSA - Automatic Network & System Administration) offers a range of powerful, automated endpoint security management tools that includes patch management, asset management, software deployment, configuration management, government/corporate conformance and policy monitoring, software audit/compliance and, power conservation management.  ANSA products utilize a patented Universal Agent Technology, industry standards, and are built from the ground up on a .NET framework for scalability and performance.

Our Universal Agent Technology quickly scans any device with an IP address -- hardware, software, routers, switches, video cameras, remote users, or any other device connected to a business network.  The flexibility of the Agent technology makes it possible to seamlessly integrate other company's tools, management solutions, templates, interfaces and policies into a powerful unified application that out performs competitors and gives customers what they want, cost-effective solutions they don't have to think about.  The simplicity, speed and security of our technology lie in the power of the unique single agent and its ability to handle multiple tasks and workloads that would ordinarily take many conventional agents to complete.

Our Products 

ANSA Platinum Suite offers Automated Patch Management, Asset Management, Software Distribution, Configuration Management, Granular Reporting, Conformance and Policy Monitoring, Software and Audit/Compliance, and Power Conservation Management. ANSA Suite has a small footprint, runs as a transparent, background utility and shows ROI in 6 months or sooner.  Our McAfee integrations, ANSA Power Manager for ePO and ANSA Patch Manager for ePO utilize the ePO console, data base and report generators.

Our Solution Integration Services

Autonomic Software offers automated, intelligent-agent  based solutions that can be integrated into current or future solutions of endpoint management, security, audit/regulatory compliance, and comprehensive network asset reporting.  The company’s technology is flexible enough that the addition of new capabilities or the integration into existing or future solutions can be developed quickly and with fewer bugs.  How? – The Autonomic intelligent agent code is kept very light with fewer lines to debug and fix.  

Apple’s Macintosh – ANSA Platinum is fully compatible with the Mac OS.  Providing Mac users with a comprehensive assortment of desktop management and security tools.

McAfee – As a SIA Technology Partner, Autonomic Software has integrated ANSA Power Manager and Patch Manager into McAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator, creating an enterprise-class solution for McAfee users.  ANSA Patch and Power Manager leverages existing ePO infrastructure to extend functionality, effectiveness, and security. The integration is unique-  the user never leaves the ePO console to manage both patch or power management.

Oracle – ANSA Platinum works fully with Oracle’s database.  Oracle realized that endpoint security and management was key to keeping their database secured. They just needed something that spoke Oracle.

Future Directions

The Company is currently working on a remote management and security solution that will allow IT professionals to manage and secure mobile devices. The product will provide patch management, asset management, software distribution, the creation of policies for ongoing compliance, and allow the IT to turn the device off or erase data in case it is lost or stolen.
